oh how i love my job
i haven't written in a while b/c i have been so crazy busy at work. i started my new job on july 10. i am now a sales rep for a beverage company, and i'm selling wine and spirits to national accounts (aka chains): landry's, pappas', chili's, bennigan's, johnny carino's, carrabba's, texas land and cattle, steak and ale, cafe express, berryhill, and my favorite chuys, to name a few. i am so pumped! i have the "west area", which translates into downtown, down i-10 to katy, and down 290 to cypress, including the w gray area. it's HUGE! even though i'm missing some of my favorite restaurants by not getting galleria/westheimer/richmond stuff (sw area), i do have the original lupe's off hwy 6 (many good times spent there years and years ago). i have a several slick willies (yeah for pool) and the sherlock's on w. gray (and if i were still in my mid-twenties, this would be unbelievably cool); alas, i'm older and can't hang any more, so it won't be as much fun. who knows though...
i'm just training right now, so getting all the cool stuff from the suppliers doesn't happen for a while, but rest assured, we'll be having some "tastings" soon...
i'm pretty sure that my favorite thing about my job though, is the fact that i get to make my own schedule. and i'll probably be working most days from about 9 or 10 to11, break for lunch, and then again from about 1:30 or 2 to about 4...maybe even earlier. can you say sweet job! we'll see. i may be jumping the gun about the sweet schedule, but it is up to me. anywho, that's my job so far...
